My Self-Care is on a whole new level.



There are certain things a woman does to keep herself ”together” meaning the basic necessities of what she considers to be her go-to regime. All of those would include but are not limited to showering, hair, nails, toes, makeup etc. When I think about self-care I tend to take it to a whole new level because I don’t believe taking care of myself is just about how I look. As women, this sometimes is our primary and only focus because we want to “appear” to have it all together. As a single young adult, discovering and learning who I am in life, I’ve realized that taking care of Jade is about what I say to me, how I shower myself with love, how I treat myself when I make mistakes, and how I stay connected to the way God loves me when I’m not very lovable.


The thing that every human being is guilty of is being hard on themselves, or being their worse critic. I actually have to practice being good to myself in order for it to be a positive habit that continues.


If you think about it, woman are so consumed with serving everybody else that we neglect the one person we desperately need to keep healthy! Ourselves.


So, I’ve adopted the routine of ensuring I hear words of affirmation every day. I speak positivity over my own life. I tell myself I’m beautiful even on days I look crazy. I try to ensure that I spend time laughing & completely removed from the cares of life at some point in my day. As I’m moving on with new things in life, I find it more increasingly important to pamper my spirit in addition to my looks. I’ve often felt prisoner to my “Look”. Everyone knows you to be a certain way, look a certain way, and act a certain way. There’s no real growth in that. The reason is comparatively speaking, no one allows room for you to change and evolve. So you have to give yourself permission to do so. Change your look, change your mind, change your environment, and change your thought process. All these things play a role in how you take care of yourself.


One of the other things I’m getting into is figuring out the areas where I’ve held myself as a prisoner. That could be prisoner to my own thoughts, what others make think, or what others may expect of me. That can be a very paralyzing feeling and all to often women live their life with regret and wishful thinking. Its important to see yourself through to your fullest potential, through Gods purpose for your life. It’s important to remove your own limitations. There’s so much you can do when you tell your self you can do it and actually believe it. Of course stepping out on faith comes with a little bit of fear. That doesn’t mean you let it go all together. It means take baby steps instead of no steps at all. It means changing one or two things about your daily routine that you can be proud of at the end of your day.




The goal of #selfcare is continuity of wholeness and contentment, even as life’s uncertainties come my way. If your constantly pouring positively into yourself, your cup runs over of what you can give to others. So I invite you to take your self-care to a whole new level with me.
