Consistency is key in every season of life: Hello September!

I am experiencing that everything worth having and working for takes a little time. Often, more flexibility is needed than I originally expected. Building a life, a career, a brand, a home, a marriage, an organization, whatever it may be requires time, patience, and the most important of them all... consistency.

The lesson August taught me was that every day does not need to be identical to the last, it just needs to be consistent in the efforts of moving my life forward in the areas that I've outlined. In turn, I feel more productive, accountable, and accomplished as I celebrate the small victories. I know there are tons of things we could do with our time every single day. The value is that we choose to do the things that make us better people for one another and also help us build closer relationships with God.

I posted a really valuable message on my social media last week that really pierced me. "Appreciate yourself and honor your soul." That's what my morning tea spoke to me. In that moment I thought about all the ways in which I could honor my soul. I thought about my prayers, my eating habits, my physical habits, the way I think about myself and so forth. However, it also made me think about the relationships I have with others. Because we are human we long for human connection. I found myself feeling extremely grateful for my tribe. You often are fulfilled when you're able to connect, to give, and to share with others. I'm thankful that I have people in my life to do just that.

So I think about my soul, and consistency keeps me balanced. I think about appreciating myself, and I think of how I try to make the best decisions even if it goes against my feeling in the moment. What a difficult thing to master. I will be a life long student in this area, but I'm committed to consistently working toward seeing new perspectives, learning at new levels, and constantly continuing to evolve and become.

Quotes and Convos Episode 5

Book Review: Tony Gaskins "Make It Work" and "A Woman's Influence"

Scripture for the Road

Ecclesiastes 1:4-9

4 Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. 5 The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. 6 The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. 7 Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. 8 Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content. 9 History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.

Find contentment in your life as it is today. Not what it will be tomorrow. Not what it will be once things fall into place. Not once you reach a certain status. Find contentment in your life now. Know that everything that is happening in our time has happened before, as there is nothing new under the sun. Find comfort in knowing that what you're experiencing in this life, someone else shares the same hardship and struggle. We are never alone in what we feel, experience, and eventually overcome. God is with us. There is nothing in life nor death that could separate us from his love.

We must know that earth is the same. Unchanging. We are here now, and eventually we will go. We are the generations of now, and the children are the next. We must make our lives fulfilled and die empty. Give our purpose in life, everything we have while we have it to give. The sun rises and sets each day. Our life has value each day. My prayer is that we learn to love and to live while we are afforded the time to do so.

Blessings to you and Happy September!
