31 Truths: Who I Am in Christ - Birthday Post!

Updated: Jul 16, 2020

Today, I'm blessed to see 31 years of life. To celebrate, I wanted to do something that all the Felder Official subscribers could do to experience God's grace with me, and this bible plan from #youversion is the perfect opportunity. I'll be reading for the next 31 days, the truths about who I am in Christ, and it's who you are in Christ too. Life has a way of attempting to discourage us at every turn, new endeavors, life transitions, and more. However, when we lean on God's thoughts about us, and stand by biblical truth... we then are reminded of what's absolute.

Birthdays are always special for me, and each one has a very important meaning. I reflect on how far God has brought me from who I used to be and the continuous learning and covering he gives me. I'm thankful for another birthday and am grateful for all the birthday love. Let's continue to live with full hearts and open minds. In this current time, cherishing life is something I find very valuable. Time is the most precious commodity we have. Taking the time to be with those I love was the best way to spend my birthday. So many that are near and far, I'm thankful for the friendship and family tribe God has given me.

The other great thing about birthdays is there is always something good in store for that year to come. I'm sure to experience the highs of turning 31 and of course the sacrificial low points. I will always remember that everything works together for my good. Cheers to another year of life, health, and strength! Thank you for being on the journey with me and I hope this 31 day devotional blesses your heart as well. The most important identity we have is the one that is in Christ. The most important relationship we have, is the one we have with Christ. Blessings to all of you.

This made me believe in receiving the best God has for my love life:

Michael and Natalie Todd 10 year wedding vowel renewal, Transformation Church in Tulsa Oklahoma.

I think after watching the renewal, you'll understand its power and influence to continue living and doing things God's way. I absolutely enjoyed watching this video. So much so, my best friend and I decided to purchase #relationshipgoals , a book written by Pastor Michael Todd to continue the learning.

Overall, this video was such a beautiful confirmation that God's way is the ultimate best for us in every area of life, including love life. Sometimes, the focus can be more materialistic, self-centered, and decisions made from fear. However, this vowel renewal was a great reminder to young adults that through hardship, failure, and imperfection, God is still covering our lives.

In relationships we don't always get it right, but that doesn't mean our lives don't deserve God's best for us. I think we also have to be willing to believe what God say's instead of allowing our failures and experiences to dictate what we're worthy of. I know for myself, love and relationships in my 20s was full of left turns, U-turns, and dead end streets. With each of those decisions though, it has helped me to continue driving forward. I've had to learn and re-learn lessons. I have also received love and abundance in some capacities. I believe everything happens divinely, with purpose, and as it should be. I look forward to the new love and life experiences ahead.

It was refreshing to watch this young couple follow Christ, and keep their love flame alive.

Scripture for the Road: #ChooseLife

Deuteronomy 30:16-20

"16in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it.17 But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them,18 I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter[a]and possess it.19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your[b]descendants,20 by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for[c]this is your life and the length of your days,[d]that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them."

Thoughts: When you read this passage, it can seem very intense, straight to the point, and little mercy is involved. However, as I began to meditate on this passage, I began to see the larger picture of what choosing life means. Because Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, everything we do should point back to him. In every decision we make to love ourselves and our neighbor as ourselves, points back to him. When you #chooselife you are choosing to deposit into your spirit, instead of depositing into your flesh. There are other biblical teachings about life and death when speaking about the power of the tongue.

Choosing death, is more than just choosing to live outside of God's covering. Its every time we decide to argue. It's every time, we give away our power. It's every time we decide to make decisions based in fear instead of power, love, and a disciplined mind as the word calls us to do. Choosing death not only hurts us, but it hurts those we love. There is never a decision made in isolation although we may think so. Choosing death is doing harm to others with our words. We all have to continue working on our selves and developing into mature brothers and sisters in Christ.

This passage is what I will use to govern year 31 of my life. I enjoy giving myself perspective and a charge to keep developing my mindfulness. Choose life because you'll be at peace each and every day. I can't tell you how many times so far, I've been thankful to follow this mantra when things are happening that I have no control over. When I choose life, its a guarantee that I will come out victorious in the end. Choose life with me.
